The Origin of GoodHelp
Good help should not be hard to find.
That belief stayed with me after watching my family navigate a difficult season of change.
My name is Mike and I’ve lived in the Snoqualmie Valley for 25 years raising my family here. I grew up around this kind of work. My grandfather was a carpenter, my father helped build a workshop at a Wesley retirement community, and I still remember pounding nails into a scrap 2x4 while watching him add onto our family home.
I founded GoodHelp Services after helping my newly widowed mother-in-law manage her home following the loss of her husband.
What I saw during that time was something many seniors and widows experience quietly: a home that suddenly feels overwhelming to manage alone.
As she once said, “He did so much. I didn’t know where to turn.”
The challenge wasn’t renovations or large projects.
It was the everyday things her partner had handled for years - the small tasks that keep a home running and life feeling steady. As those needs piled up, so did the stress - for everyone involved.
Our family wanted to help, but distance and busy schedules made it hard to be there consistently. That experience made one thing very clear: who you invite into your home matters. Skill is important, but patience, empathy, and respect matter just as much - especially during times of transition.
We eventually found a simple rhythm that worked. She kept a running household list. When it reached a certain point, I would make the long drive and we would work through it together. The pressure lifted for her, but the distance for her support system remained taxed. What mattered most wasn’t just the work itself, but knowing someone dependable would show up, listen, follow through and not leave her hanging.
That experience is what led to GoodHelp Services.
A Personal Approach
GoodHelp supports seniors, widows, and families who feel unsure where to turn when everyday household needs begin to feel overwhelming.
While GoodHelp operates as a professional service, the work is intentionally personal and hands-on. I am the person who answers the phone, responds to emails, and shows up at your home. This allows clients and families to build a relationship with one trusted individual, rather than having unfamiliar faces come and go.
Our approach is centered on calm, consistency, and respect - bringing order and reassurance back into the home the same way I approached helping my own family. Each visit is guided by patience, follow-through, and genuine care.
Good help should feel human and reassuring.
