Home Safety & Aging-in-Place Assessment
Helping You Stay Safe, Comfortable, and Independent at Home
Most people want to remain in their own homes as they age. Yet many homes were never designed with aging, mobility changes, or long-term independence in mind.
A Home Safety & Aging-in-Place Assessment from GoodHelp provides a professional evaluation of your home's safety, accessibility, and usability - along with practical recommendations to help you remain safe, comfortable, and independent for years to come.
Whether you're planning ahead, helping an aging parent, or recovering from an illness or injury, an assessment can provide valuable peace of mind and a clear path forward.

What to Expect
In-Home Assessment
We begin with a conversation about your concerns, goals, and any current mobility or accessibility challenges.
Next, we conduct a detailed room-by-room evaluation of the home, looking at entrances, walkways, stairs, bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, lighting, flooring, and other areas that may affect safety and independence.
Most assessments take approximately two hours to complete.
Detailed Report & Action Plan
Following the assessment, you'll receive a detailed report with photos, findings, recommendations, and prioritized action items.
In addition to the assessment findings, you'll receive personalized observations and practical recommendations based on your specific home, needs, and goals.
The result is a clear roadmap for creating a safer and more comfortable living environment.
What Happens Next?
The assessment is designed to provide guidance, not pressure.
Some recommendations may be simple changes that homeowners or family members can complete themselves.
Many common safety improvements can be completed through GoodHelp's maintenance and household support services, including grab bar installation, lighting improvements, reducing trip hazards, organization projects, and other non-licensed home safety improvements.
Certain recommendations may require licensed trade professionals such as electricians, plumbers, flooring specialists, or remodeling contractors. When appropriate, we'll help you understand which type of professional is best suited for the work.
Our goal is to help you move from awareness to action - at a pace and budget that works for you.
Why Choose GoodHelp?
GoodHelp was founded to help older adults and their families navigate the practical challenges of remaining safely and comfortably at home.
Unlike a traditional contractor, our focus is not simply completing projects. We look at how a person lives in their home and identify practical solutions that support independence, confidence, and quality of life.
We believe the best time to prepare a home for aging is before a crisis occurs.
